چکیده

The harmfulness of fine dust generated by automobile brakes to the environment has recently received attention. Therefore, we aimed analyze and regulate brake wear particles in dynamometers. To accurately measure number particle mass, sampling system used needs minimize transportation losses reduce residence time enclosure system. measurement currently can estimate main loss but cannot evaluate complex flow field under different design conditions. We computational fluid dynamics (CFD) technology predict behavior static pressure characteristics, uniformity flow, In addition, compared basic structure system, combined with four factors affecting dynamometer, As a result, proposed that cross section dynamometer should be circular, outlet angle 15°, caliper fixed 150°, two sets splitters added. This improves reduces

Brake wear particle emissions: a review

Traffic-related sources have been recognized as a significant contributor of particulate matter particularly within major cities. Exhaust and non-exhaust traffic-related sources are estimated to contribute almost equally to traffic-related PM10 emissions. Non-exhaust particles can be generated either from non-exhaust sources such as brake, tyre, clutch and road surface wear or already exist in ...

Computational fluid dynamics for turbomachinery design

Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) probably plays a greater part in the aerodynamic design of turbomachinery than it does in any other engineering application. For many years the design of a modern turbine or compressor has been unthinkable without the help of CFD and this dependence has increased as more of the flow becomes amenable to numerical prediction. The benefits of CFD range from short...

An optimization study of a multiple-row pin-vented brake disc to promote brake cooling using computational fluid dynamics

Brake disc cooling is an important area of research for high-performance brake disc manufacturers, users as well as academia. In high-demand braking applications, vented discs are increasingly being used as these are considered to have high heat-dissipating characteristics. The cooling efficiency of ventilated brakes depends on three key characteristics: the mass flowrate through the disc, i.e....

Optimization of cardiovascular stent design using computational fluid dynamics.

Coronary stent design affects the spatial distribution of wall shear stress (WSS), which can influence the progression of endothelialization, neointimal hyperplasia, and restenosis. Previous computational fluid dynamics (CFD) studies have only examined a small number of possible geometries to identify stent designs that reduce alterations in near-wall hemodynamics. Based on a previously describ...
